Scoring and Structure
League Structure:
The league consists of six weeks, during which players will compete in five session matches (best four week scores count) with the opportunity to qualify for the Championship Match (to be played on week 6).
Each participating team will consist of two players. Players can either form their own teams or be paired up with an alternate to ensure balanced competition. Individuals may compete in matches as an alternate.
Each team will play a match each week within the six-week period with the opportunity to qualify for the championship match.
Each team and individuals that win a match during session play will automatically qualify for the championship match.
Scoring:
Each player’s individual performance and their team’s best score will contribute to the overall standings.
The league will take into account the Best Score from each team, allowing teams flexibility regarding participation. The best four scores from the total of five matches will count towards the overall team standing. This format means that if a team misses a match, they can remain competitive.
Scoring Structure:
Each player’s performance will contribute to their team’s total.
Individual players will also compete for their own accolades, as each match will use a Net Game and Individual Skins format for individual competition.
Aggregate Scoring:
Aggregate scores will be calculated each week, including the best four scores from each team, contributing to the overall team standings.
Individual scores will also be compiled to track individual player performance throughout the league.
Ties:
In the event of a tie in any individual match, the players involved will engage in a playoff, which could include additional holes or a sudden-death format based on the tournament committee’s discretion.
Net Handicap by Flight:
Flight 5 - 20 Handicap and Above - 5 Net Shots Removed
Flight 4 - 15-20 Handicap - 4 Net Shots Removed
Flight 3 - 10-15 Handicap - 3 Net Shots Removed
Flight 2 - 5-10 Handicap - 2 Net Shots Removed
Flight 1 - 0-5 Handicap - 1 Net Shot Removed
Pro Flight - 0 and Below - 0 Net Shots Removed
"Net Shots Removed" refers to the number of strokes that are subtracted from each player's score based on their handicap. This ensures that players of varying skill levels have the chance to compete on an equal footing. For example, if a player in Flight 2 has a gross score of 59 (+5) , their effective score for the tournament would be 59 - 2 = 57 (+3).
***If a player does not have a current handicap index players may inquire with the tournament committee about which flight they should play in.
